Valarie A. Purl, ESQ. is in her 5th year as the criminal justice instructor at Warren Tech. She believes there is value in teaching future leaders, leading them to become critical thinkers and guiding them as they learn skills to make well informed decisions.

Prior to teaching at Warren Tech, Ms. Purl spent thirteen years in youth corrections, two of which were spent traveling by wagon train and living in tepees with a juvenile residential program. After her time in youth corrections, she worked with Chester County District Attorney’s office in Pennsylvania prior to returning to Colorado.  Upon her return to Colorado she passed the bar and began to practice as an attorney in criminal defense and domestic relations cases.

Ms. Purl holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from New York State University  at Courland, a Master of Arts in Sociology from University of Colorado at Denver and Juris Doctorate from Widener Law School in Delaware.  She has passed the Colorado Bar and obtained the title of Esquire and is a member of the FBI citizens Association.

In her free time, Ms. Purl enjoys traveling, reading, attending concerts and the theater.  She continues to practice law doing estate planning and various community service projects. She may be reached at vpurl@jeffco.k12.co.us
